Master Chef Tiz

I'm a little late on this post, but the other day my good friend Tiz got his first ever 99. I think he had fun getting it so that's excellent. He wanted to get 99 with Evo, a clan mate, unfortunately a random would mean they eventually got it a couple of seconds apart.

So grats Tiz and Evo once again! Doesn't it feel free now that you've finally gotten the 99 out of the way?

On a completely unrelated note, I'm currently gunning for 70 ranged (for the lovely black d'hide).

It's actually 67 now but I didn't get a shot of that.

I would've made more progress if only I didn't spend 3 days getting 54 fletching after insisting to myself that I should make my own bolts. Eventually Dg recommended me to use iron knives and now I buy them off the GE at 37 gp each. Hurts every time.

The Legends' Quest, Complete!

For the past 2 days I've been preoccupied with the Legends' Quest on Runescape. As expected, half my time was wasted walking back to the bank whenever I forgot something and the other half was spent constantly checking the quest guide to make sure that I brought everything.

After that I went to work on my treasure trail, which was the reason why I started Legends' in the first place. It was a bit scary because I never expected mages to jump at me (I guess I had a level 3 scroll).

The co-ordinates led me right to the Demonic Ruins. How convenient.

I'm pleased with this reward. So far this is the best one I've gotten from a treasure trail.

Also, before I got to the first chest (with the white wizard), I came unprepared for an attack and, thinking I could take him on naked, I held on till I was at 12 hp. I was very near the bank (after tele-ing to the Ectofunctus) when the poison kicked in and boom! I was down to 6 hp. My hand was shaking so much. One more round of poison damage and I would be dead. I had my clue, my whip and my strength cape and hood to worry about. Then, BOOM another round of poison damage. I was a goner.

Or not. Luckily the second one only caused 5 damage, so I made it to the bank and stuffed tuna down my throat and washed it down with a nice dose of anti-poison.

I was lucky then. The last time I shook like that was when I first went pking. Oh well, tomorrow, I'm off to the jellies for more clues!

Today a Mortal, Tomorrow a Legend

Excellent. Since my last post I've gotten every skill and completed every prerequisite quest needed for Legend's.

And finally,

Hurrah! I expected it to take a longer time though, seeing how I decided to grow my own herbs to raise herblore. But sometime during the week I gave in and purchased 100 tarromin herbs for strength potions. That really sped up things, and tomorrow I will begin the Legend's Quest.

50 Agility is the New 99 Strength

I've got a new goal - get 50 agility. The other day I was on a treasure trail and the chest I had to dig up was in a blocked off part of the jungle near Karamja, only accessible upon starting the Legend's Quest, which requires 50 agility (amongst hundreds of other things).

Photobucket
Excellent.

Photobucket
One of the quests needed for Legend's. It was fairly easy.

At the moment I need just about 40 more tickets from the Agility Arena and I can redeem my way to 50 agility, and I didn't even have to play that long.

Also that day I decided to play on HD. I don't normally because it causes a slight but noticable lag. Anyway I was shocked at the amazing graphics, even more so than when it was first released. I spent about 30 minutes of laggy clicking in the Agility Arena then I teled to the Ectofunctus. I quite literally made a face like this :o

Photobucket
Unbelievable.

I wish my computer was a little faster, then I could play in HD more often. I leave you now with some more HD pictures taken in the Agility Arena.

Jellies and Usually Just a Clue Scroll

Excellent. I finally got 60 range that day at the Experiments. Sadly, when I walked in the Jellies with my newly purchased red d'hide armour, the first thing I saw was this douche saying "Lol 99 str and only 60 range". WHAT'S WRONG WITH THAT?! Anyway I was too busy picking up my coins to come back with a witty yet insulting remark.

During the course of the Jelly killing I got a clue scroll which directed me into level 50 Wilderness. It was the first time since the original Wilderness was removed that I walked by our old pking route. Ah, what good memories. However I was anxious to dig up the treasure so I didn't stop to watch the giant spiders.

Photobucket

Apart from today I haven't played much in the past week, and I won't be ending this inactivity that soon. My exams and coming up and I intend to work hard for it because I have a deal with my dad that makes this one exam I cannot afford to screw up or I will be wasting a very valuable opportunity.

By the way, if you got my John Frusciante reference, then we really should get to know each other better.

No Up in Updates

Recently, Jagex made some changes to Clan Wars, the mini-game I started out hating but grew to love.

That day, I went with Tiz to try it out. First we tried the safe Free for All, which is pretty much a safe version of non-multi (for the area we went to anyway), 1v1 pking. It was fun for the first few seconds, then it just got tedious. Mindless rampage noob killing get flamed game.

The dangerous version is exactly the same except you lose your items when you die, and if you kill someone you get nothing in return. It may provide some kind of excitement for the daredevils on Runescape but not for me.

Photobucket

It's a good thing Jagex is making an effort to please its players but of late, it's updates haven't been up to par. The descriptions given on the site are all very promising but the actual product disappoints more often than not.

If only original pking wasn't removed in the first place. To quote an ex-clan member, "Jagex didn't have to decapitate themselves to relieve a headache".

Where Do We Go Now

If you didn't get the GNR reference, nevermind.

If you didn't get the Nirvana reference, nevermind as well.

But what is one to do after 99 strength? I definitely feel relieved that I've finally achieved this long term goal; I thoroughly enjoy logging on to Runescape and not knowing what to do next, it's the same feeling when I first got membership.

The first few days after 99 strength, I no-lifed fishing. It was more fun than I thought, plus my Ss was rented out almost the whole time I was there. Eventually I got 76 fishing.

Photobucket
Excellent.

Then I went to catch sharks and to my horror I did not have the cooking level required to cook them. Mr Gower, you sly fox.

So I put down my harpoon and did a random quest.

(Picture not shown.)

Then I went for my clan's weekly clan wars.

Photobucket
We lost that one terribly.

After that, I got a slayer assignment. Jellies! Excellent. This was my chance to get that clue scroll I desired. So I access my bank, and I see that there's a lovely piece of Black Dragonhide legs waiting to be worn. What's this? Only 51 range?! Perhaps I should get 60 so I can at least wear the red ones.
